Researcher

Linqing Huang

Also known as 黄林庆, Lin Qing Huang

Linqing Huang is a Research Assistant Professor and PhD advisor in the School of Computer Science at Shanghai Jiao Tong University, working on low-quality data mining and learning, remote sensing image understanding, and AI security. Papers on multisource domain adaptation under evidence theory, written with Zhunga Liu and others, appeared in IEEE Transactions on Neural Networks and Learning Systems in 2021 and IEEE Transactions on Cybernetics in 2023, and both are flagged as ESI Highly Cited Papers. A visiting scholarship at the National University of Singapore's School of Computing ran from July 2022 to July 2023, and Huang joined Shanghai Jiao Tong University in February 2024. The Pujiang Project of the Shanghai Magnolia Talent Program selected Huang in 2024, and in April 2025 Huang's team set up the AI and Cognization Security Lab, led by Xinghao Jiang. In 2026, they serve as an Area Chair for WCCI 2026 - IJCNN and as a Junior Editorial Board Member for Intelligence & Robotics.

Timeline

  1. 2020

    Evidential combination for domain adaptation

In 2020, Huang publishes "Evidential Combination of Augmented Multi-source of Information Based on Domain Adaptation" in Science China Information Sciences, with Zhunga Liu, Quan Pan and Jean Dezert.

  2. May 2021

    Evidential reasoning across source domains

In May 2021, IEEE Transactions on Neural Networks and Learning Systems publishes "Combination of Transferable Classification with Multisource Domain Adaptation Based on Evidential Reasoning" by Zhunga Liu, Huang, Kuang Zhou and Thierry Denœux. The method weights the classification results from different source domains by domain consistency, discounts them under the belief-function framework, and combines them with Dempster's rule. It is flagged as an ESI Highly Cited Paper.

  3. July 2022–July 2023

    Visiting scholar in Singapore

From July 2022 to July 2023, Huang is a visiting scholar at the School of Computing of the National University of Singapore.

  4. February 2023

    Distribution adaptation with evidence theory

In February 2023, Huang, Zhunga Liu and Jean Dezert publish "Cross-Domain Pattern Classification With Distribution Adaptation Based on Evidence Theory" in IEEE Transactions on Cybernetics, and Huang is at Northwestern Polytechnical University. The paper proposes distribution adaptation based on evidence theory (DAET), which combines complementary information from the source and target domains to improve classification accuracy. It is flagged as an ESI Highly Cited Paper.

  5. February 2024–May 2025

    Joining Shanghai Jiao Tong University

In February 2024, Huang joins Shanghai Jiao Tong University as a Research Assistant Professor and master's advisor in the School of Electronic Information and Electrical Engineering, and joins the AI Security Lab led by Gongshen Liu.

  6. 2024

    Shanghai Magnolia Pujiang Project

In October 2024, Huang receives funding from the Science and Technology Commission of Shanghai Municipality. In December 2024, Huang is selected for the Pujiang Project of the Shanghai Magnolia Talent Program.

  7. April 2025

Setting up an AI security lab

In April 2025, Huang's team sets up the AI and Cognization Security Lab, led by Xinghao Jiang, Vice President of Shanghai Jiao Tong University. The School of Computer Science's Institute of Artificial Intelligence and Cognitive Security counts Huang among its members.

  8. Since May 2025

    Research assistant professor at SJTU

Since May 2025, Huang is a Research Assistant Professor and PhD advisor in the School of Computer Science at Shanghai Jiao Tong University, with research interests in low-quality data mining and learning, remote sensing image understanding, and AI security. In 2026, Huang serves as an Area Chair for WCCI 2026 - IJCNN and as a Junior Editorial Board Member for Intelligence & Robotics.
