Madhu Sudan
Madhu Sudan is a computer scientist whose work on probabilistically checkable proofs and error-correcting codes has been recognized with several awards. In May 2026 he gave a keynote on communication with imperfectly shared context at a workshop on invented, constructed, and emergent languages in multi-agent AI systems. After degrees at IIT Delhi and UC Berkeley, he worked at IBM Research and MIT. Honors followed: the Gödel Prize in 2001, the Nevanlinna Prize in 2002, and election to the National Academy of Sciences in 2017. He is a professor of computer science at Harvard, where he joined the faculty in 2015.
