Michael Mitzenmacher
Also known as Michael D. Mitzenmacher, Michael David Mitzenmacher
Michael Mitzenmacher is a Harvard computer scientist whose work on randomized algorithms extends to learned Bloom filters. He graduated summa cum laude from Harvard in 1991, studied at Cambridge on a Churchill Scholarship, and earned a Berkeley PhD in 1996. He joined the Harvard faculty in 1999 and was named one of 47 ACM Fellows in 2014. In 2018 he published a model of learned Bloom filters at NeurIPS, and in July 2026 he was helping develop Orla, a framework for building and running AI workflows. He is Thomas Watson Senior Professor of Computer Science at Harvard's School of Engineering and Applied Sciences.
