Li Juanzi

Also known as Juanzi Li

Li Juanzi is a computer scientist whose research interests include knowledge engineering and the semantic web. She helped found Zhipu AI in 2019, a company whose early work focused on knowledge graphs. KoLA, a benchmark she co-authored, measures the world knowledge of large language models. Z.ai, formerly known as Zhipu AI outside China, held its IPO in Hong Kong in January 2026. As of October 2026, she is a professor at Tsinghua University and principal of the Knowledge Engineering Group.

    Co-founding Zhipu AI

    Among the core founders, she helps found Zhipu AI in June 2019, when AMiner is spun off from a Tsinghua laboratory. Its co-founders initially focus the startup on knowledge graphs.
