Ulrike von Luxburg
Also known as Ulrike Luxburg
Ulrike von Luxburg is a German computer scientist known for her work on spectral clustering and graph Laplacians in machine learning. She completed a diplom in 2001 and a doctorate through work at the Max Planck Institute for Biological Cybernetics in 2004. From 2007 to 2012 she led a learning-theory research group at the Max Planck Institute for Intelligent Systems, and in 2012 she became Heisenberg Professor for machine learning at the University of Hamburg. She shared the 2024 DFG Communicator Award for science communication on artificial intelligence. As of October 2026, she is a professor for computer science at the University of Tübingen and coordinates a research cluster.
