Fuli Luo

Also known as 罗福莉

Fuli Luo is an AI researcher and lab leader whose work spans natural-language generation, efficient language models and reinforcement learning. She studied computer science at Beijing Normal University and pursued graduate work at Peking University's Institute of Computer Language; her 2019 ACL paper examined sentiment control in story endings. After graduate study, she joined Alibaba DAMO Academy, developed VECO and led the AliceMind open-source project before moving to Huanfang Quant in 2022 and DeepSeek in 2023. She coauthored DeepSeekMoE and DeepSeek-V2 in 2024 and the DeepSeek-V3 technical report in December 2024. Since November 2025, she leads Xiaomi's MiMo large-model team and describes research aimed at moving AI from language toward the physical world; in 2026, she coauthors the MiMo-V2.6 report on reinforcement learning and self-improvement.

  1. 2019

    NLP research at Peking University

    She studies computer science at Beijing Normal University and pursues graduate work at Peking University's Institute of Computer Language. In 2019, she coauthors ACL work on language generation, including a study of sentiment-controlled story endings.

  2. 2022–2023

    From DAMO to DeepSeek

    After her master's, she joins Alibaba DAMO Academy's Machine Intelligence Lab, takes charge of the AliceMind open-source project and leads development of VECO, a multilingual pretraining model. In 2022, she moves to Huanfang Quant for deep-learning strategy research; in 2023, she joins DeepSeek as a key developer of DeepSeek-V2.

  3. 2024

    DeepSeekMoE and DeepSeek-V2

    In 2024, she coauthors DeepSeekMoE and DeepSeek-V2. DeepSeekMoE uses fine-grained expert segmentation and shared-expert isolation to improve expert specialization; DeepSeek-V2 reduces training costs by 42.5% and raises maximum generation throughput to 5.76 times that of DeepSeek 67B.

  4. December 2024

    The DeepSeek-V3 report

    In December 2024, she coauthors the DeepSeek-V3 Technical Report. It describes how the model combines Multi-head Latent Attention with DeepSeekMoE for efficient inference and training.

  5. November 2025

    MiMo at Xiaomi

    In November 2025, she is part of Xiaomi's MiMo large-model team. She works with its researchers on AI systems that extend from language into the physical world.

    Leading Xiaomi's MiMo team

    As of October 2026, she leads Xiaomi's MiMo large-model team. In October 2026, she coauthors the MiMo-V2.6 report, which examines scaling reinforcement learning toward model self-improvement.
