Alejandro Ribeiro
Also known as A. Ribeiro, Alejandro R. Ribeiro, Alejandro Ribeiroy
Alejandro Ribeiro is a University of Pennsylvania engineering professor whose AI research develops graph neural networks for wireless and other networked systems. He earned electrical engineering degrees in Uruguay and Minnesota, joined Penn in 2008, and received a National Science Foundation CAREER Award in 2010. His work includes random-edge graph neural networks for wireless resource allocation and stochastic graph neural networks for changing networks; papers he coauthored received IEEE Signal Processing Society Best Paper Awards for 2022 and 2024. He became an IEEE Fellow in 2026 and is the Solomon and Sylvia G. Charp Professor of Electrical and Systems Engineering at Penn.

2010
An NSF CAREER Award
In 2010, he receives an NSF CAREER Award as an assistant professor of electrical and systems engineering at Penn.
-
2019
Random-edge neural network
With Mark Eisen, he introduces the random edge graph neural network (REGNN) for wireless resource allocation. Its graph convolutions use random graphs formed by fading interference patterns.
