Aakanksha Chowdhery
Also known as achowdhery
Aakanksha Chowdhery is an AI researcher who served as technical lead for Google's 540B PaLM model. She earned an electrical engineering degree at IIT Delhi in 2007, then an MS at Stanford in 2009, where she worked toward a PhD under John Cioffi. The Paul Baran Marconi Young Scholar Award honored her in 2012. Her other projects include PaLM-E and Gemini, and a Pathways paper she co-wrote won an MLSys 2022 Outstanding Paper Award. As of October 2026, she is an adjunct professor at Stanford, and at Reflection AI she works on agentic LLMs that leverage RL techniques.
