Ishan Misra
Ishan Misra researches computer vision, representation learning and generative AI. He earned a robotics master’s degree in 2014 and doctorate in 2018 at CMU, with Martial Hebert and Abhinav Gupta as advisers. At FAIR, he worked on self-supervised and multimodal learning, followed by generative video research. His work includes technical leadership of the Movie Gen team in 2024 and work on Emu Video, DINOv2 and ImageBind. As of October 2026, he is a director and research scientist at Meta’s TBD Labs.
