Ivan Oseledets
Also known as Иван Оселедец
Ivan Oseledets is a mathematician and AI researcher whose tensor-train methods represent high-dimensional arrays and support neural-network compression. He graduated from Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology in 2006, earned Candidate and Doctor of Sciences degrees at the Institute of Numerical Mathematics of the Russian Academy of Sciences in 2007 and 2012, and joined Skoltech in August 2013. In 2011, he published “Tensor-train decomposition”; in 2019, he coauthored research using tensor trains to compress neural-network embeddings. He received the 2018 Russian President's Award for Young Researchers in Science and Innovation. As of October 2026, he is dean of Moscow State University's Faculty of Artificial Intelligence and CEO of AIRI; he is also a professor and heads the Laboratory of Computational Intelligence at Skoltech.
