René Vidal

Also known as Rene Vidal, R Vidal, R. Vidal

René Vidal is an AI researcher whose work spans subspace clustering, computer vision, and biomedical data science. He studied engineering in Chile and Berkeley before joining Johns Hopkins in 2004. The IAPR awarded him its Aggarwal Prize and named him a Fellow; ACM later named him a Fellow for contributions to subspace clustering and motion segmentation. At Penn, he directs IDEAS and THEORINET, co-chairs PennAI, and studies the foundations of deep learning and trustworthy AI.
