Ahmed A. Abd El-Latif
Also known as Ahmed A. Abd El‐Latif, Ahmed A Abd El-Latif, Ahmed Abd El-Latif
Ahmed A. Abd El-Latif is a computer scientist whose AI research spans text classification and traffic prediction, alongside quantum-inspired cryptography. He earned degrees in mathematics and computer science from Menoufia University, completed a computer science and technology PhD at Harbin Institute of Technology in 2013, and received Egypt's State Encouragement Award in Engineering Sciences in 2016. He coauthored work on quantum-walk image encryption, a deep-learning classifier for AI-generated text, and BiLSTM traffic forecasting for vehicle-to-everything networks. As of October 2026, he is a professor of computer science at Menoufia University and heads the MEGANET6G Lab at Bonch-Bruevich Saint-Petersburg State University of Telecommunications in Russia.

Timeline
-
2005–2010
Degrees at Menoufia
He earns a BSc with honor rank in mathematics and computer science in 2005 and an MSc in computer science in 2010, both from Menoufia University.
-
2007–2018
Teaching at Menoufia
At Menoufia University's Department of Mathematics and Computer Science, he begins as a demonstrator in 2007, becomes a teaching assistant in 2010, and serves as an assistant professor from 2013 to 2018.
-
2013
A PhD at Harbin
He completes a PhD in computer science and technology at Harbin Institute of Technology in 2013.
-
2016
An Egyptian research award
Egypt gives him the State Encouragement Award in Engineering Sciences in 2016.
-
2020
Quantum walks for cryptography
In 2020, he coauthors a Scientific Reports paper that constructs substitution boxes from cascaded quantum-inspired quantum walks and chaos inducement. It also proposes pseudo-random number generation and combines it with the substitution-box method in an image-encryption scheme.
-
2024
Detecting AI-generated text
In 2024, he coauthors an IEEE Transactions on Artificial Intelligence paper presenting a deep-learning classifier that distinguishes human-authored writing from AI-generated text.
-
March 2025
V2X traffic prediction
In March 2025, he coauthors a deep-learning approach to traffic prediction for vehicle-to-everything (V2X) networks. It compares bidirectional LSTM with LSTM and GRU models and reports higher prediction accuracy for BiLSTM.
-
As of October 2026
Professor at Menoufia
In March 2024, he is an associate professor of computer science at Menoufia University and Prince Sultan University's EIAS Data Science Lab, and leads a mega-grant program on AI for 6G networks. As of October 2026, he is a professor of computer science at Menoufia University's Department of Mathematics and Computer Science and heads the MEGANET6G Lab at Bonch-Bruevich Saint-Petersburg State University of Telecommunications in Russia.
