Yuki M. Asano
Yuki M. Asano studies visual representation learning. His joint work includes self-labeling methods, multimodal video learning and datasets for self-supervised training. Asano earned an Oxford VGG doctorate with Andrea Vedaldi and Christian Rupprecht and has led Amsterdam’s QUVA lab and the Fundamental AI lab at Nuremberg. Asano, Rupprecht and Vedaldi coauthored Self-labelling via Simultaneous Clustering and Representation Learning at ICLR 2020. He also coauthored work on multimodal self-supervision for unlabeled videos. Asano coauthored PASS with Rupprecht, Andrew Zisserman and Vedaldi. The team designed PASS as an ImageNet replacement for self-supervised pretraining without humans in the images.
