Ariel Felner
Ariel Felner studies heuristic search, including pattern databases and search methods for agents in physical environments. Felner studied computer science and mathematics at Hebrew University from 1991 to 1993 and pursued master’s study from 1994 to 1995. His master’s thesis concerned searching for an alternative plan. Jeffrey Rosenschein advised him. Felner describes Physical A* and its multiagent version MAPHA* as methods for mobile agents searching physical environments. The stated objective is to reduce travel effort. He also studies communication and shared information among agents whose knowledge of the environment is incomplete.
