Antonin Chambolle
Antonin Chambolle is a CNRS research director whose work connects image processing, mathematical optimization and AI. After studying at École Normale Supérieure, he earned a PhD at Université Paris-Dauphine in 1993 and published image-processing research at ICCV in 1994. He led the applied mathematics center at École Polytechnique, coauthored a 2016 tutorial on continuous optimization for imaging, and received the Michel Monpetit-INRIA Prize in 2021. He coordinates PDE-AI, which applies mathematical analysis, optimal control and optimal transport to machine learning, and is a CNRS research director at CEREMADE as of October 2026.
