Sven Koenig
Sven Koenig studies intelligent systems acting under uncertainty and incomplete information. His research includes decision making for individual robots and multi-robot teams. Koenig worked from 1995 to 1997 on a mobile-robot architecture based on partially observable Markov decision processes. The architecture combines ideas from robotics and operations research. He was among the presenters of the ICRA 2006 tutorial on auction-based robot coordination. The tutorial studies robots bidding for tasks and allocating routes through decentralized coordination methods. His research studies planning and learning in large, changing or partially known domains. It includes teams of agents, noisy perception and limited reasoning time, with applications in robotics and decision support.
