Bo Han

Also known as 韓波

Bo Han is a machine-learning researcher whose work connects robust learning, out-of-distribution detection, and trustworthy reasoning with foundation models. He earned a PhD in computer science at the University of Technology Sydney in 2019 and worked as a postdoctoral fellow at RIKEN AIP from 2019 to 2020. At RIKEN, he received the 2019 BAIHO Award in March 2020 for work on robust deep learning with heavily noisy data. His coauthored 2022 NeurIPS paper on out-of-distribution detection was selected as an Outstanding Paper, and he received the INNS Aharon Katzir Young Investigator Award for 2024. His HKBU tenure promotion took effect in July 2025; a 2026 RGC fellowship supports a five-year project on trustworthy and efficient reasoning agents with foundation models, and as of October 2026, he is an associate professor and RGC Research Fellow who directs the Trustworthy Machine Learning and Reasoning Group.
