Diwakar Vaish

Diwakar Vaish is a robotics researcher whose work spans humanoid robots, brain-computer interfaces, and assistive medical devices. He earned a B.Tech from Sharda University and developed Manav, a 3D-printed humanoid with vision, sound processing, and voice control. His 2016 brain-controlled wheelchair used EEG signals and machine learning; with AIIMS neurosurgeon Deepak Agrawal, he developed a 2017 ventilator whose AI algorithm adjusted air to a patient's breathing. He co-founded AgVa Healthcare and worked to scale ventilator production during the 2020 COVID-19 shortage; two Mumbai hospitals returned units after experts flagged performance issues. In March 2026, he was founder of Fiberise Fit when FYBER launched and its initial inventory sold out within hours; as of October 2026, he heads Robotics and Research at A-SET Training & Research Institute.

Timeline

  1. 2015

    Manav, a 3D-printed humanoid

In 2015, he works in A-SET's robotics lab with a B.Tech from Sharda University. Manav, his 3D-printed humanoid, combines vision and sound processing with voice-controlled movement.

  2. 2016

    A brain-controlled wheelchair

In 2016, he develops a brain-controlled wheelchair for people with locked-in syndrome. It uses EEG sensors, and he applies machine learning to route each user's brain signals to the chair's controls.

  3. 2017

    A portable AI ventilator

With AIIMS neurosurgeon Deepak Agrawal, he develops a low-cost, portable ventilator in 2017. An Android app controls it, and its AI algorithm adjusts air supply to match a patient's normal breathing pattern. He founds AgVa Healthcare to bring a portable model to hospitals.

  4. 2020

    Scaling AgVa ventilator production

As AgVa Healthcare's co-founder, he works toward a 20,000-unit production target in 30 days during the 2020 COVID-19 shortage. In June 2020, two Mumbai hospitals return AgVa ventilators after experts flag performance issues and seek upgraded versions.

  5. March 2026

    Founder of Fiberise Fit

In March 2026, he is the founder of Fiberise Fit as it launches FYBER, a weight-management product whose initial inventory sells out within hours.

  6. As of October 2026

    Head of Robotics and Research

As of October 2026, he heads Robotics and Research at A-SET Training & Research Institute.
