Florent Perronnin
Florent Perronnin is a computer vision researcher known for his work on the Fisher kernel, a method for large-scale image classification. In 2007 he and Christopher Dance published a CVPR paper on Fisher kernels for image categorization, and a 2010 ECCV paper with Jorge Sánchez and Thomas Mensink raised PASCAL VOC 2007 average precision from 47.9% to 58.3%. Facebook opened its Paris AI research team in 2015, and he became its founding director. He is a Director of Science at NAVER LABS Europe, which he joined in 2017. In 2020 ECCV gave him and his co-authors its Koenderink '10 year Test of Time' Award for the 2010 paper.
Timeline
-
