Q. M. Jonathan Wu
Also known as Jonathan Wu, Qingming Jonathan Wu, Q. M. J. Wu
Jonathan Wu is a computer vision and machine learning researcher at the University of Windsor in Canada, with a research focus on vehicle safety, driver assistance and sensor fusion for autonomous driving. After a PhD in electrical engineering at the University of Wales, Swansea, in 1990, he joined the National Research Council of Canada in 1995 and became a senior research officer and group leader there. He became a Tier 1 Canada Research Chair in Automotive Sensors and Information Systems at Windsor in 2005, was inducted as a fellow of the Canadian Academy of Engineering in 2019, and received the rank of Distinguished University Professor in 2023. His papers include a 2015 extreme learning machine with subnetwork hidden nodes and a 2022 graph network for image manipulation detection. As of October 2026, he is a Distinguished Professor of electrical and computer engineering at Windsor and, since 2026, an associate editor of IEEE Transactions on Circuits and Systems for Video Technology.
