Hua Wang
Hua Wang is an AI researcher whose work spans evolutionary computation, data quality, privacy and practical systems. Before he joined Victoria University, he worked at the University of Southern Queensland and led a software group in China's Department of Post-Communication; he joined VU's Centre for Applied Informatics as research leader in 2014. His projects have addressed secure outsourced data and intelligent electric-vehicle charging, and he now co-leads work on privacy-preserving federated learning for edge systems. He became an IEEE Fellow in 2026 and serves as coordination chair for the 15th Health Information Science conference. As of October 2026, he is a professor at VU.
