Boudewijn Lelieveldt

Also known as Boudewijn P.F. Lelieveldt

Boudewijn Lelieveldt is a biomedical imaging researcher whose visual analytics work helps scientists explore images, cells and gene data. He graduated in mechanical engineering at TU Delft in 1994, received an NWO Vidi grant for cardiology MRI analysis, and became professor of biomedical imaging at Leiden University Medical Center and TU Delft. He co-authored Cytosplore for mass-cytometry analysis, BrainScope for human brain transcriptomes, and GeneSurfer for spatial gene co-expression. His LUMC and TU Delft team contributed data visualization to a 2021 motor-cortex atlas, and he was one of Medical Delta's scientific leaders in AI for Computational Life Sciences in January 2023. As of October 2026, he is a Medical Delta professor at LUMC and TU Delft, leads an NGID machine-learning biomarker work package, and contributes to an Allen Institute brain-cell atlas consortium.
