Researcher

Hak‐Keung Lam

Also known as H K Lam, H. K. LAM, H. K. Lam, H.K. Lam, Hak Keung Lam

Hak‐Keung Lam is an engineering researcher whose work connects fuzzy-model control, neural networks and machine learning. He earned engineering degrees at Hong Kong Polytechnic University, worked there as a postdoctoral and research fellow, and joined King’s College London as a Lecturer in 2005. His 2016 book presents membership-function-dependent analysis and control design for polynomial fuzzy-model systems, and he was named an IEEE Fellow in 2019 for contributions to fuzzy-model-based control. He was part of HearTech+, a King’s team that won first place in the 2022 PhysioNet heart-murmur challenge with machine-learning algorithms. As of October 2026, he is Reader of Intelligent Control and Computational Intelligence at King’s and coauthors research on explainable AI for image classification.
