Gary B. Huang
Also known as Gary Huang
Gary Huang is a computer-vision researcher who co-authored the Labeled Faces in the Wild database, a 2007 resource for studying face recognition in unconstrained environments. In 2012 he co-authored Learning to Align from Scratch at NIPS. After graduate work in the UMass Amherst computer vision lab, he joined Janelia Research Campus in 2012. With Viren Jain, he published DAWMR networks for segmenting electron microscopy images, and ICLR published the paper in 2014. As of October 2026, he is a research scientist and software engineer at Janelia Research Campus.
