Researcher

Sebastian Thrun

Sebastian Thrun researches robot perception and control under uncertainty. His shared work includes a robotics textbook and the Stanford Racing Team’s autonomous vehicles. Thrun, Wolfram Burgard and Dieter Fox co-authored Probabilistic Robotics, published by MIT Press in 2005. Thrun led Stanley to victory in the 2005 DARPA Grand Challenge. Probabilistic Robotics presents robotics methods based on mathematical statistics for perception and control under uncertainty. It presents algorithms, mathematical derivations and example implementations.
