Horst Bischof
Horst Bischof is a computer-vision researcher whose work includes object recognition, visual learning, tracking, and medical computer vision. He studied computer science at TU Wien and became TU Graz's Professor of Computer Vision in 2004. His semi-supervised boosting paper for robust tracking received the 2018 Koenderink Prize, and he led research and conference work at TU Graz and ECCV and CVPR. He served as TU Graz's Vice Rector for Research from 2011 to 2023. Since 2023, he has been the university's Rector; it reappointed him in 2026 for a 2027–2031 term, while his recent work applies deep learning to chest CT.
