Chris Stauffer
Also known as Christopher P. Stauffer
Chris Stauffer is a computer-vision researcher whose work with Grimson focused on adaptive background tracking and activity patterns in video. In 1999, he and Grimson published a CVPR paper on adaptive background mixtures. His 2000 PAMI paper with Grimson presented a method for learning activity patterns from video. At the 2010 IEEE AVSS conference in Boston, he chaired a tracking session; by 2024 his career included roles at MIT CSAIL, BAE Systems, and Meta. By April 2025, he is CTO and co-founder of your.MOV, an AI video-editing platform built around prompts.
