Lucilla Sioli
As of October 2026, Lucilla Sioli is Director of the European AI Office, and her remit includes implementing the AI Act. She has been a civil servant with the European Commission since 1997 and holds economics doctorates from Southampton and the Catholic University of Milan. In June 2024 she was set to formally lead the AI Office in five units with around 140 experts. In August 2025 she took part in a CSIS event on Europe's AI strategy, and in February 2026 the Vrije Universiteit Brussel scheduled her as keynote speaker at a High-Level Lecture.
