Jack Minker
Jack Minker studied logic programming and deductive databases, including shared methods for combining and querying knowledge bases. Minker earned a bachelor’s degree at Brooklyn College in 1949, a mathematics master’s at Wisconsin in 1950 and a mathematics doctorate at Pennsylvania in 1959. Jorge Lobo, Minker and Rajasekar published Foundations of Disjunctive Logic Programming. He also researched the impact of logic programming on databases with John Grant.

Mathematical training
Minker earned a bachelor’s degree at Brooklyn College in 1949, a mathematics master’s at Wisconsin in 1950 and a mathematics doctorate at Pennsylvania in 1959.
-
1988
Foundations of deductive databases
Minker edited a volume on deductive databases and logic programming. He published a paper on perspectives in deductive databases and worked with A. Gal on informative answers using integrity constraints. These publications connect logical inference with database questions.

1990–1991
Semantics and combined knowledge
With Arcot Rajasekar, Minker published fixed-point semantics for disjunctive logic programming in 1990. With Chitta Baral and Sarit Kraus, he published research on combining multiple knowledge bases in 1991. He coauthored these contributions.

1992
A shared foundation for disjunctive programs
Jorge Lobo, Minker and Rajasekar published Foundations of Disjunctive Logic Programming. He and John Grant researched the impact of logic programming on databases. These works address logical systems and database inference.
