Mehryar Mohri
Also known as 森
Mehryar Mohri is a computer scientist whose algorithms have served as the foundation for many deployed speech recognition systems. He completed a master's degree at Ecole Normale Superieure in 1989, after studying at Ecole Polytechnique. He joined AT&T Bell Labs in 1994, where he supervised research in text and speech processing. The textbook Foundations of Machine Learning, which he co-wrote, appeared from MIT Press in 2012. As of October 2026, he is a professor at the Courant Institute of Mathematical Sciences and president of the Association for Algorithmic Learning Theory.
