Steffen Tjerrild
Steffen Tjerrild co-founded Synthesia, an AI video platform for businesses. Before its 2017 founding, he studied business in Denmark and the United States, earned an MSc in applied economics and finance at Copenhagen Business School, and worked at a regional investment firm in Zambia. The company raised a $90 million Series C in 2023 to accelerate AI research and develop avatar technology. In September 2025, he announced Synthesia’s expanded AWS partnership and its AWS Marketplace listing. As of October 2026, he is Synthesia’s COO, and its platform serves more than 65,000 businesses.
