Chowdhury Mofizur Rahman
Chowdhury Mofizur Rahman is a machine-learning researcher whose work includes data classification and transformer-based text compression. He earned engineering and computer-science degrees at BUET and completed a machine-learning PhD at Tokyo Institute of Technology. A 1995 paper he coauthored earned the IEEE Best Student Paper award at an artificial-intelligence conference. He led BUET's CSE department, founded United International University, and served as its pro-vice-chancellor and vice-chancellor before taking a vice-chancellor-designate role at State University of Bangladesh. As of October 2026, he is a professor in BRAC University's Department of Computer Science and Engineering.
