Liang Wang
Also known as 王亮
Liang Wang is a computer vision researcher at the Chinese Academy of Sciences whose work spans video understanding, gait recognition and action recognition. He earned engineering degrees at Anhui University and a doctorate in pattern recognition at CAS, then held research and teaching posts in Britain and Australia before joining the National Laboratory of Pattern Recognition in 2010. IAPR named him a Fellow in 2014 for contributions to video understanding and pattern recognition. He became an IEEE Fellow in 2019 and coauthored papers on gait recognition in 2003 and skeleton-based action recognition in 2022. As of October 2026, he is an associate editor-in-chief of Machine Intelligence Research and is affiliated with the Chinese Academy of Sciences.
