Jie Tang
Jie Tang works on academic knowledge graphs, network representation learning and shared development of large language models. AMiner, previously ArnetMiner, is an academic search and mining system. Tang co-authored a KDD 2008 paper and later worked on the system. The work concerns organizing scholarly knowledge. The GLM algorithm appeared at ACL 2022 and GLM-130B at ICLR 2023. GLM-130B is an English–Chinese model, and subsequent shared ChatGLM work used supervised fine-tuning and reinforcement learning from human feedback.
Timeline
-
2008
Academic search and mining
AMiner, previously ArnetMiner, is an academic search and mining system. Tang co-authored a KDD 2008 paper and later worked on the system. The paper concerns organizing scholarly knowledge.
-
2009–2013
Social networks and linked knowledge
Tang researched topic-level social influence in 2009 and inferring social ties in 2012. He also co-authored papers on linking knowledge across languages and knowledge bases in 2012 and 2013. These are distinct parts of his social network and knowledge graph research.
-
2018–2019
Representations of networks
Tang co-authored research on NetMF in 2018, DeepInf in 2018 and NetSMF in 2019. These projects study network embeddings and user behavior prediction.
-
2022–2023
General language models
The GLM algorithm appeared at ACL 2022 and GLM-130B at ICLR 2023. GLM-130B is an English–Chinese model, and subsequent shared ChatGLM work used supervised fine-tuning and reinforcement learning from human feedback.
