Kakul Srivastava

Kakul Srivastava is the CEO of Splice, where AI tools help musicians discover and reshape sounds. She held product leadership roles at GitHub and Adobe before becoming Splice’s CEO in 2022. Splice acquired Spitfire Audio in April 2025 and agreed with Universal Music Group in December 2025 to explore AI music tools and virtual instruments. TIME named her to its TIME100 AI list in 2025.

    GitHub product leadership

    In 2016, she is GitHub’s vice president of product management, with previous roles at Adobe, Slack, and Yahoo.

  2. By 2019

    Leading Creative Cloud

    She attends MIT and serves as a Yahoo vice president; by 2019, she is Adobe’s vice president for Creative Cloud Experience and Engagement.

  3. 2021–2022

    Becoming Splice CEO

    She joins Splice’s board in 2021 and becomes CEO in 2022 after leading the end-to-end experience for Adobe’s Creative Cloud business.

  4. 2024

    AI for creative discovery

    In 2024, she describes Splice’s AI as a tool that helps musicians find sounds faster and explore creative directions.

  5. April 2025

    Acquiring Spitfire Audio

    In April 2025, Splice acquires Spitfire Audio; Srivastava says its tools can bring sounds deeper into creators’ workflows and give users more creative control.

    TIME100 AI and UMG tools

    TIME names her to its 100 Most Influential People in AI list in 2025. In December 2025, Splice and Universal Music Group agree to explore AI tools and virtual instruments that let UMG artists bring their own sounds into Splice workflows.

    Creating AI sample variations

    In April 2026, Splice launches Variations, which creates new sample versions while preserving each sample’s original identity. Srivastava says these tools let sounds be reshaped and reimagined; Splice compensates sample creators for AI-generated variations.

    Leading Splice

    She is CEO of Splice, whose product work includes AI-powered creation tools and new mobile experiences.
