Oliver Lemon
Oliver Lemon studies conversational AI, interactive robots and multimodal language systems. His research connects dialogue-policy learning with language-model robot interfaces. Lemon co-authored Hybrid reinforcement/supervised learning of dialogue policies from fixed data sets with James Henderson and Kallirroi Georgila. The Computational Linguistics article appeared in 2008. With Verena Rieser, he co-authored a 2011 Computational Linguistics article on learning and evaluating dialogue strategies for new applications using small datasets. In 2024, Lemon and collaborators studied a multi-party conversational social robot using language models and conversations between patients, companions and a social robot in a hospital memory clinic.
