Geoffrey I. Webb
Also known as Geoff Webb
Geoff Webb is an AI researcher whose work spans association discovery, machine learning and data science. He earned computer science degrees at La Trobe, held academic posts at Griffith and Deakin, and joined Monash in 2002, where he directed research centres and edited a data-mining journal. He directed G I Webb & Associates, and BigML acquired his Magnum Opus software in 2015. He received the 2017 Eureka Prize for Excellence in Data Science and the 2024 IEEE International Conference on Data Mining Research Contributions Award, then became an Australian Laureate Fellow in 2025. Since 2026, he is Monash's Vice Chancellor's Distinguished Professor in the Faculty of Information Technology.
Timeline
