Kevin Smith
Also known as Kevin Christopher Smith, K. C. SMITH, K. C. Smith, K. Smith, KEVIN C. SMITH, Kevin C Smith
Kevin Smith is a computer-vision researcher whose work spans biological microscopy, cell screening and clinical imaging. He coauthored work on SLIC superpixels, active learning for high-content screens, the CIDRE microscopy method and a computer-vision study of neurite outgrowth dynamics; his later studies addressed mammography-based breast-cancer risk and AI-based selection for supplemental MRI. In 2025, he led KTH's Computer Vision and Biomedical Image Analysis group and directed the Bioimage Informatics Facility node in Solna; he previously held research positions at ETH Zürich and EPFL. As of October 2026, he is a professor at KTH and works on an AI project for ovarian-tumor diagnosis.
