Xiaoming Liu
Xiaoming Liu is a computer-vision professor at Michigan State University, where his work centers on face analysis and 3D vision. After a doctorate from Carnegie Mellon University in 2004, he works as a research scientist at GE Global Research until 2012. The International Association for Pattern Recognition names him a Fellow in 2020, and IEEE names him a 2023 Fellow. A 2021 method with Facebook AI researchers traces a single deepfake image back to its generative model, and a 2023 IARPA grant for the BRIAR program fuses whole-body and face biometrics. As of October 2026, he holds the MSU Foundation Professor title and works as a visiting scientist at Google Research.
