Hemanth Kumar Tanneru

Hemanth Kumar Tanneru is a chemical engineer whose AI work spans reinforcement-learning forecasting and machine-learning-guided drug discovery. He earned a B.Tech. in Chemical Engineering at Sri Venkateswara University College of Engineering in 2010 and a Ph.D. at IIT Madras in 2017, with a thesis on micro-photosynthetic power cells. His research ranges from micro-photosynthetic power-cell modeling and low-power energy studies to reinforcement-learning forecasts and machine-learning work on mutant IDH1 inhibitors. He has been an Associate Professor in IIPE's Department of Chemical Engineering since March 2024 and is an Associate Research Fellow at IIT Madras's Robert Bosch Centre for Data Science and Artificial Intelligence as of October 2026.
