Researcher

Jocelyn Chanussot

Jocelyn Chanussot applies machine learning and data fusion to satellite imagery. As of October 2026, he is a professor at Grenoble INP, holds the AXA Chair of Remote Sensing at the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and is an ELLIS Fellow. He received an M.Sc. from Grenoble INP in 1995 and a Ph.D. from Savoie University in 1998, then joined Grenoble INP as an assistant professor in 1999. He chaired the data fusion committee of the IEEE Geoscience and Remote Sensing Society from 2009 to 2011, and he became editor-in-chief of the IEEE Journal of Selected Topics in Applied Earth Observations and Remote Sensing in January 2011. The IEEE named him a Fellow in 2012, and Clarivate Analytics ranked him among the most influential researchers in the world in 2020.
