Researcher

Ying Guo

Ying Guo is an Emory biostatistician whose work develops statistical methods for brain imaging and graph-based analysis of brain networks. She earned a bachelor's degree in statistics at Renmin University in 1998 and a PhD in biostatistics at Emory in 2004, then joined its faculty and directed the Center for Biomedical Imaging Statistics. Her research includes statistical models for advanced brain scans, BrainGB's benchmark for graph neural networks, and a 2026 framework for studying brain-network development through multisite imaging. She became a Fellow of the American Statistical Association in 2018 and received the Kutner Distinguished Alumni Award in 2023. She is a professor in Emory's Department of Biostatistics and Bioinformatics and directs CBIS; since 2025, she has served as an associate editor of the Journal of the American Statistical Association.
