Badong Chen
Also known as 陈霸东
Badong Chen is a professor at Xi’an Jiaotong University’s Institute of Artificial Intelligence and Robotics whose work spans signal processing, machine learning, neural engineering and robotics. He earned degrees at Chongqing University and a Ph.D. at Tsinghua, then held postdoctoral posts at Tsinghua and the University of Florida. He coauthored the maximum correntropy Kalman filter and the 2024 book Neuromorphic Intelligence: Learning, Architectures and Large-scale Systems, and won the 2022 IEEE TCDS Outstanding Paper Award. In 2025, he organizes an IJCNN tutorial on deep learning; in March 2026, he coauthors research on major depression using an ensemble graph neural network.
