Yong Xu
Also known as Yong Dong Xu, Xu Yong, 徐勇
Yong Xu is a computer vision researcher at Harbin Institute of Technology (Shenzhen) whose work spans face recognition, multiview clustering, and visual large models. He earned bachelor's and master's degrees at the Air Force Institute of Meteorology in 1994 and 1997 and completed a PhD in pattern recognition and intelligent systems at Nanjing University of Science and Technology in 2004. After teaching at the People's Liberation Army University of Science and Technology, he joined HIT Shenzhen as a postdoctoral fellow and faculty member, where he coauthored face-recognition methods and incomplete multiview clustering research. He received the Ministry of Education's New Century Excellent Talents in University distinction in 2008, served as a co-chair at ICICML 2024, and gave a 2025 keynote on retinopathy diagnosis. In 2026, he chairs the program committee for the Asian Conference on Artificial Intelligence Technology and is an IEEE Senior Member affiliated with HIT Shenzhen.
