Researcher

Yashraj S Narang

Yashraj S Narang studies robot learning and physical simulation. His joint work includes differentiable cutting models and policies for robotic assembly. Narang earned a master’s degree from MIT and a doctorate from Harvard. His earlier work covered robotics, mechanics and simulation. Narang coauthored DiSECt with Eric Heiden and four other researchers. The simulator models cutting soft materials and supports gradient-based parameter inference and controller optimization. Narang coauthored AutoMate. The RSS 2024 project studies specialist and generalist assembly policies across different object geometries.
