Lab leader

Timothée Lacroix

Timothée Lacroix is co-founder and chief technology officer of Mistral AI. He studied at the École Normale Supérieure and worked as a researcher at Meta. With Nicolas Usunier and Guillaume Obozinski, he published work on canonical tensor decomposition for knowledge-base completion in 2018 and on temporal knowledge bases in April 2020, when Facebook AI Research and ENPC were his affiliations. The February 2023 LLaMA paper listed him as an author of foundation language models from 7B to 65B parameters. In April 2023 he co-founded Mistral AI with Arthur Mensch and Guillaume Lample, and the Mistral 7B and Mixtral of Experts papers of October 2023 and January 2024 named him among their authors.
