Hans-Hellmut Nagel
Hans-Hellmut Nagel is a German computer scientist whose work includes cognitive vision systems. He studied physics, completed a Bonn doctorate in 1964, and became a computer science professor in Hamburg in 1971. From 1983 to 2000, he headed the information processing division of the Fraunhofer Institute for Information and Data Processing, and in 1998 he was appointed an IAPR Fellow. He coordinated the CogViSys project, launched in 2001, and in 2004 he published 'Steps toward a Cognitive Vision System'. As of October 2026, he is listed as a professor emeritus at KIT.
