Researcher

Christine Chevallereau

Also known as Christine Chevallereau-Wenger

Christine Chevallereau is a robotics researcher whose work links bipedal walking with bird-inspired balance. She defended a robotics thesis under Wisama Khalil in 1988. Her 2005 study examined stable running in a five-link biped, and she became a research director at CNRS in 2006. She coauthored a 2017 study of self-stabilizing 3D walking and a 2023 tensegrity model of bird posture, which represents leg bones with bars and muscles and tendons with cables. She received the CNRS Silver Medal in 2025 and, as of October 2026, is a research director at LS2N.
