Samuel Holt
Samuel Holt studies reinforcement learning, language-model agents and scientific applications. His work includes memory, tool use and the shared MuJoCo Playground project. Holt studied for an Oxford engineering-science master’s degree from 2013 to 2017. He later studied machine learning for a doctorate at Cambridge from 2021 to 2025. At Cambridge, Holt conducted doctoral research with Mihaela van der Schaar on reinforcement learning and language models. Its topics include memory-augmented agents, tool use and scientific workflows. Holt co-authored the open MuJoCo Playground framework with a research team. The original paper describes an integrated simulation, rendering and training stack for robot learning and sim-to-real transfer.
