Carlo Sansone
Carlo Sansone is a professor of information-processing systems at the University of Naples Federico II whose work includes pattern recognition and biomedical image analysis. His papers cover a fast graph-matching algorithm, automatic classification of clustered microcalcifications, breast MRI lesion detection and deep-learning segmentation. In 2022, he became an IAPR Fellow for contributions in pattern recognition and biomedical image analysis. As of October 2026, he directs the CINI-AIIS National Laboratory, coordinates Federico II’s Human-Centred Artificial Intelligence master’s programme and is president of the university’s Centro di Ateneo per i Servizi Informativi.
